La Wanda Moorer - HR Executive and Strategic Leader
La Wanda Moorer is an accomplished human resources executive with an extensive career at Lockheed Martin, where she has held increasingly senior leadership positions across multiple business areas. She began her Lockheed Martin career as a compliance analyst and later participated in the company’s Human Resources Leadership Development Program, gaining experience in equal opportunity initiatives, labor relations, compensation, and legal related matters.
Moorer subsequently served as a law clerk and a human resources business partner before assuming leadership roles in HR compliance and management.
As her career progressed, she became Director of HR Compliance and later held several director level positions supporting Lockheed Martin’s civil, defense and intelligence, aeronautics, and space systems organizations. Her responsibilities have included organizational design, executive talent development, workforce transitions, employee relations, inclusion, compensation, performance management, and strategic decision making. She has led geographically dispersed HR teams that support thousands of employees and large scale business operations.
Currently, La Wanda Moorer serves as a member of the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Advanced Development Programs Line of Business Leadership Team. She has been recognized with an Evening of Excellence Award for Leadership and other special company honors.
Passionate about coaching and mentoring, Moorer believes effective leadership requires both excellence and accountability. Her professional interests include HR strategy, facilitation, cross functional collaboration, and helping individuals build successful careers within large organizations. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and the State Bar of California.
